Habic-Basque Living Donostia Hosts the sample : “Beyond Criticism” 2026

After touring Madrid, Bilbao, and A Coruña, sample : ‘Beyond Criticism’ 2026 sample opened at Habic-Basque Living Donostia on June 11, where it will remain on view through June 25. During the event, Sofía Aldama, a former student in the Master's Degree in Architecture, will present her projectIn terram". The proposal the concept of "commensality"—the primal and social act of gathering to share a meal underground or around a fire—. Located in the northwest section of the historic Quinta de los Molinos estate in Madrid, the design organized in an ascending, “entrenched” manner along a diagonal that runs from the most public areas (commensality) to the most private ones (residency program).

GOI.SPACE-159A

The inauguration was also attended by Roberto Pérez-Guerras, who presented his project, "GOI.SPACE-159A", a work in the Carabanchel neighborhood that involves transforming the Goicoechea-Isusi Foundation Mansion. The building is a late 19th-century Neo-Mudejar structure that was repurposed as a nursing home and has stood abandoned since the 1990s. This new proposal revitalize the space through modular units that connect living spaces and galleries.
