Our student Javier Orellana Izacan, from Master's Degree management design management of Buildings (MDGAE), shares his impressions of the event with us:
It was a meeting , but one laden with significance, marking the halfway point of the Master's Degree programs, many of which last a year. It was a lunch among classmates, a relaxed moment that allowed for a conscious pause in the middle of an intense and demanding course.
Before sharing the meal—a calamari sandwich, a gastronomic symbol of Madrid—the Vice President Students and International Relations, Rosalía Baena Molina, addressed the students. In her speech, she highlighted a particularly relevant idea: from this moment on, we are all alumni of the University. The impact of the institution is not measured solely by what happens within its classrooms, but by what each of its students contributes to society throughout their professional lives.
He also recalled three values that define the University of Navarra and that should accompany us on this journey: talent, science, and commitment. These values are not understood in isolation, but rather as a way of acting and making decisions, both professionally and among staff. He also emphasized the university's commitment to always remaining at the forefront, open to change and new challenges.
From a staff perspective, as an Ecuadorian student, it is particularly meaningful to participate in an event that bears the name of my country. In my country, Ecuador represents half of the world; here, it symbolizes half of the course. This coincidence gives a special meaning to the moment: an invitation to look back with gratitude for what we have learned and forward with responsibility for what is to come.
This meeting , in final, an enjoyable space to share with colleagues from different backgrounds and disciplines, but also an opportunity to reaffirm the meaning of the effort involved in pursuing a Master's Degree management design management of Buildings. An experience that, beyond the academic, leaves its mark on the way we understand the profession and the role that each of us can play in society.
