Last March, the students of the Master's Degree in Real Estate Strategy and Business closed the subject of Finance with the Colossus Case Study, prepared by Professor Juan Gómez Vega, Managing Director of the Managing Director of the Managing Study. Director at Deutsche Finance International, together with professors Andrés Benito, MD and Board Member of La Finca Global Assets and Óscar González Peralta, professor at IESE.
The exercise consisted of analysing and evaluating a resort located on the Mediterranean coast, whose performance was lower than required, and reformulating the business plan that had been originally developed.
Making use of the knowledge acquired in the subject of Finance, as well as some notions of the subjects Markets or Investments, students question the viability of the previous business plan through the elaboration of static and dynamic financial models.
Thus, aspects such as the capital structure, the inputs offered by the market analysis, the qualitative premises of the project or the reasons that led to inconsistent cash flows were debated. Finally, advice was sought on the different courses of action to achieve the objectives that the owner demanded of the asset.

After a few weeks of intense work as a team, the students of the Master's Degree in Real Estate Strategy and Business presented their proposals and financial analyses of the Colossus case. The proposals were very varied. The creativity of architects, coupled with the discipline It was a most interesting cocktail.
In order to generate an environment of healthy competition between the groups, a souvenir was awarded to the proposal winner, consisting of a great laptop sleeve and a printed copy of the book published on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the School of Architecture of the University of Navarra.
Congratulations!
