Support
Mentoring is a voluntary activity directed to development staff , in which the professor shares his experience with the student to help him in his intellectual, social and spiritual growth. It has a long tradition in university Education and is now frequently applied in the world of business. Moreover, it is one of the distinctive features of the student experience at the University of Navarra.
How is it done? It depends on the person. For some, it is very easy: you set a quotation to meet with the mentor/advisor and once there, you try to chat about how things are going: classes, campus activities, cultural concerns, professional aspirations, social life, character challenges...
Although there is no method or rules, you can start with these simple steps
Find out who is your mentor: you have it in your welcome email.
Check schedule for advice to find a slot compatible with your classes.
Write an email to your mentor with two or three options for diary.
Prepare a short list of topics you would like to talk about.
Go to quotation punctually and with complete peace of mind: your mentor/advisor will be waiting for you and will be happy to meet you and help you.
