summary
How can report emerge report a purely chemical world? What is information, and how could semantics have emerged in the prebiotic world? This seminar these questions based on Terrence Deacon’s theory, which challenges strictly microphysicalist explanations and proposes viewing nature as a stratified reality in which new dynamic levels and new forms of causal constraint can emerge. Within this framework, I will focus on the autogen, a minimal molecular system that allows us to speak of an elementary autonomous normativity. Building on this, I will explore how the origin of a report based on subject template subject can be understood from a philosophically suggestive and chemically plausible perspective. This could serve to trace a history extending from inert chemical systems to LUCA (Last Universal Common Ancestor).
