During their stay, the participants toured the 61st Venice Biennale, visiting national pavilions, exhibitions, and independent venues that gave them a first-hand look at some of the most significant works in the contemporary art scene.

The program, led by Miguel Mallol and Julia Terzano, directors of the Venice Curatorial Course,included master classes, lectures, and meetings with professionals in the curatorial field, such as Yasmine Helou, Silvia Litarde, Bernardo Follini, Anna Numi, Daniele Capra, and Ángel Moya.

As part of the activities, the students visited the Alberta Pane Gallery, where they were welcomed by its director, Alberta Pane. During the “ meeting,” the students participated in a workshop focused on the “ development ” of exhibition proposals for contemporary art galleries, addressing conceptual, spatial, and management aspects.

Contemporary Dialogues

Over the course of the four-week “ residency program ” program, the students developed their own curatorial “ project ,” “ result ” from the “ work ” at research, as well as tutorials and exercises completed during the program. The program concluded with a public “ presentation ” of these projects at the 10 & zero uno gallery, creating a space for dialogue and feedback among the participants, instructors, and invited professionals.

Karelle Buendía, an international student in the Curatorial Studies program ( programs of study ) at the Master's Degree , explains that having the privilege of living for a month in a city completely immersed in art and being so close to the world’s most important art biennial “made us realize just how much we still have to learn.”

"It has been deeply enriching to spend time with and learn from professionals with such diverse backgrounds. One of the lessons that will have the greatest impact on my work is the importance of the exhibition space in contemporary art and how it can transform the audience's experience."
