Art and play

The students of the accredited specialization of product of the Degree in design carried out this exercise that consisted in the realization of a game project (in all the possible variants that it implies), in the context of the Museum of the University of Navarra, the MUN.

Therefore, the context of art, especially the visual arts, was the landscape in which to situate the projects; the museum not only as a repository but also as a generator of art and culture, and its store that segregates materials and didactic elements beyond simple souvenirs from Catalog. The games or toys were aimed at a public over 14 years of age (the complexity rules and regulations and legal complexity of children's games discouraged this tempting option of a game for children). The games or toys were physical, material, and made of wood. They could be graphed, colored or not. The product was completely developed for its sale, from its name, logo, instructions for use, packaging, etc. And it was prototyped in its entirety. Those exercises that were deemed appropriate could be offered for sale in the MUN store. In this magical way a project that was born in thought could pass not only to the side of tangible reality, but also to the side of commercial reality that allowed to share the effort with the visitors of the museum.
