Master's Degree students from the School of Architecture participate in Recruiting Day II

The 36 participating companies had the opportunity to identify student profiles, with the goal of facilitating the selection process and offering internship opportunities.

Cristina Pardo López, student and delegate of the Master's Degree in Architecture, shares with us what the event was like:

"Neither the capital's traffic nor another day of rain could dampen the excitement that was in the air at the University of Navarra's Madrid postgraduate program . It was Thursday, May 8, and at nine o'clock in the morning, the students of the Masters of Architecture were getting ready to take the next step in their professional degree program . The long-awaited Recruiting Day was about to begin and, with it, the interviews that could decide their future.

In the atrium of the university, the representatives of the visiting companies were getting organized before the process began, while the students shared their concerns, encouragement and the occasional last-minute committee . The day promised to be a real professional "speed-dating": the companies, located at their respective stations, would welcome the students in average meetings, a short period of time in which both parties had to convince the other. The companies had to prove to be the ideal place to start a degree program, and the students had to present themselves as the perfect candidates to get the necessary internships to fill in Master's Degree

For many, it was their first interview; but even those with experience admitted to feeling the same nerves. Ernesto VazquezThe Master's Degree student in Environmental design and management of Buildings, confessed: "I'm nervous but I'm even more excited, hoping that everything goes well". And finally, around ten o'clock in the morning, the first round of interviews began. The students walked through the corridors mentally going over possible questions and commenting with their classmates: "Are you going first with Ortiz León or with Arup?

One after another, the students entered the classrooms to meet with consulting firms such as CBRE or with architectural programs of study such as Tini Living. The variety of participating companies confirmed the diversity of career paths that open up after completing the Master's Degree.

As the hours passed, the atmosphere became less tense and gave way to excitement. "The interviews are being quite relaxed and the interviewers are very close, there were even alumni doing the interviews", commented Ana Daroca, student of the double Master's Degree in Architecture and Sustainability, after finishing her second round. Her classmate, Claudia García, on the other hand, was very excited after talking about a future beyond the internship with an urban planning business , her favorite field within architecture.

Personally, Recruiting Day completely altered my plans. Before you start, you think you have a clear idea of your preferences, but the direct contact with the companies and finding out how you might fit in can change everything. I went into the interviews with doubts and left excited, hoping to have made a good impression on what had suddenly become my first choice. By two o'clock in the afternoon, all the interviews were over. Among the students, there was a shared feeling of excitement and a sense that the best was yet to come. But, above all, there was the certainty that, on this Recruiting Day 2025, we had already begun to open the doors to a future full of opportunities".
