After touring Argentina, the United States, Costa Rica, Bolivia, Brasilia and São Luís do Maranhão (Brazil), the exhibition opened in São Paulo on September 17. The sample opens the 14th São Paulo Architecture Biennial and can be visited until the end of October at the IAB headquarters of the Brazilian Institute of Architecture.
Curriculum -Learning and Experience in Spain of the New Latin American Architecture- gathers the best Master's Degree Final Projects of the School of Architecture. The sample reflects the synergy between the professional internship and the social context of Peru, Argentina, Ecuador, Chile and Mexico, adapting the designs to the needs of the proposed building sites.
The workshop included a roundtable with Raquel Schenkman, President of the Institute of Architects of Brazil (IAB); Renato Anelli, curator of the Architecture Biennial and cultural director of the IAB; José Luis Miguel de Lara, cultural advisor of the Embassy of Spain in Brazil; Pedro Rossi, cultural director of the National Directorate of IAB; Fredy Massad, director the America Forum and Odilio Almeida, president of the National Directorate of IAB.
The session also included a lecture by Rubén Labiano Novoa, director of the Master's Degree in Architectural Theory and design and secretary of the Latin American Architecture Biennial (BAL). During his lecture, Labiano discussed Spanish architecture in the second half of the 20th century.
