The Arquia Foundation held last October 8 the submission ceremony of the XXVI Edition of arquia/scholarships 2025, a call that has had 500 applications from Spain and Portugal. Thanks to this scholarship, 49 architects will carry out professional internships in prestigious national and international programs of study .
Attracted by the theme of the competition, 'Extra and ordinary' proposed by architect Roger Tudó, Lucía Ruiz (ARQ'23 + MUA' 24) decided to apply for the Arquia grants with the project 'An oven, a table and a garden'. The proposal pays homage to the old bread ovens with a bakery that integrates with the architecture of Pamplona. In praise of the everyday, "the small workshop creates a sequence of spaces to the rhythm of bread making through an oven, a table and a garden," he explains.
Lucía was selected along with 12 architects in the scholarship competition and since October 1 she has been part of Tuñón + Albornoz Arquitectos, located in Madrid and directed by Emilio Tuñón and Carlos Martínez de Albornoz, a firm that "I have always admired," she confesses.

After years of drawing, projecting and thinking, last May Belén Recarte (ARQ'25) graduated and decided to apply for the transcript category granted by the Arquia Foundation. Belén says that receiving the scholarship was "quite a surprise". The selection process consists of several phases that last for six months, a period in which "I presented my transcript and chose the programs of study in which I would like to do my internship if I receive the scholarship". In July he was confirmed his selection for the internship at RCR Arquitectes, a studio located in Olot (Girona) of which he has been a member since October. Under the direction of Rafael Aranda, Carme Pigem and Ramon Vilalta, the studio was awarded the Pritzker award in 2017.
Part of the RCR Arquitectes team is building a hotel in Dubai and Belén is participating in the renovation of Barcelona's Sants Station. "Working with architects I have long admired and being part of their team is going to help me boost my emerging degree program and I plan to make the most of my stay."
