Architecture students learn at International Seminars

Through theoretical and practical workshops, guided by international guest lecturers, the students explored different areas of architecture and urbanism.

From May 19 to 23, the students of the Degree in Architecture participated in the International Seminars, an initiative in which students worked with international experts in different fields of architecture and urban planning, in addition to carrying out case programs of study to learn about future trends.

The International Seminar on Timber Construction, directed by School of Architecture professorJosé Manuel Cabrero, was attended by professor Markus Hudert, who was also a guest speaker. Markus Hudertfrom the University of Aarhu. This seminar explored the potential of modular timber Structures , with special attention to ruled surfaces and hyperbolic paraboloid (hypar) geometry, highlighting their ability to combine structural efficiency, architectural expressiveness and constructive circularity. Through theoretical sessions and practical workshops, a modular wood construction system was developed, the feasibility of which was demonstrated through the design and construction of a small-scale structure on the university campus .
