Miguel Biurrun López, student former design student , participated in the Alumni Talk for the Professional subject on January 22 alongside Teresa San Miguel and Belén López. During the meeting, he shared design professional experience with design students. In this interview, he details the keys to starting his own business, Miguel Biurrun Atelier.
What does your work consist of?
design manufacture of wedding and formal dresses.
What do you like most about this one?
Interacting with customers and seeing how the garments evolve.
Where does your curiosity about wedding design come from?
I learned to sew when I was 15 while studying for high school diploma. The bridal fashion sector came about by chance, and it is the scale and dimensions of the dresses that appeal to me most.

Were you sure you wanted to start a business?
Not at 23 (the age he was when he started his own business), but the opportunity arose and, as if by fate, Miguel Biurrun Atelier was born. Hard work perseverance, and passion for what you do make you grow in a very satisfying way.
What do you remember about your training the School?
Freedom when it comes to design. I also remember my design teachers, Javier Martín Galán, María Clé, and Isabel Sánchez, with great fondness and admiration.
What message would you send to future designers?
Don't be afraid and go after your goals. I believe that the core topic success is passion and work.
