Architects from Costa Rica, Ecuador, Argentina, Chile, Guatemala, Brazil, Paraguay and Mexico visited Pamplona from September 22 to 26 to participate in the Latin American Architecture Biennial, a meeting that turned the city into the epicenter of cultural and architectural dialogue. The School of Architecture of the University of Navarra and the Palacio del Condestable were the main venues for a program that included conferences, project presentations and exhibitions.
In this edition, Costa Rica was the guest country, so the central exhibition , '125 years of architecture in Central America (1900-2025). Costa Rica as a Reference', offered a historical and contemporary tour of the most representative works of the region, consolidating the role of Central America in the international architectural panorama.
The forum brought together young and renowned architects, who shared experiences and innovative projects with a strong social and environmental commitment. The conferences addressed current issues such as sustainable urbanism, spatial justice, tropical architecture and the challenges of climate change in Latin American cities. The challenges addressed broadened the horizon of the biennial beyond the purely architectural, to place it in the framework social and cultural debates of global scope.
