Awards for students and professionals that reward conscientious construction
The Passivhaus nZEB Consortium, in partnership with the University of Navarra, launches the first call for the Edifica Awards, aimed at students and professionals who have developed works or projects that promote conscious construction: healthy, sustainable and efficient.
The present Edifica 2022-2023 Awards arise from the celebration of the Edifica 2021 Fair, with the goal to promote the idea of conscious construction, giving impetus and visibility to the best proposals of design of buildings, cities and living environments from the university to the professional field.
The Edifica Awards are divided into two categories: award scholarship Edifica and Edifica Professional Awards.
What is it about?
The scholarship Edifica Awards are aimed at final year Architecture students from all over Spain who develop their work Fin de Degree with a marked character of design committed to sustainability and low environmental impact. The selected proposal must be aligned with the values of conscious construction promoted by the Passivhaus nZEB Consortium.
The award consists of a scholarship for the Master's Degree in Architecture and Sustainability. This Double Master's Degree, of 100 ECTS credit and with a duration of 15 months, allows to take the Master's Degree University Degree in Architecture (MUA) at the same time as the Master's Degree in design and management Environmental Buildings (MDGAE), both accredited official degrees. With these programs of study, one acquires the perceptive degree scroll that qualifies for the practice of the profession of architect in Spain and, on the other hand, one obtains the specialization in the area of sustainability. As result, the professional profile of student is completed, making it more complete and attractive in the current labor market.

What is it about?
The Edifica Professional Awards recognize the best project of professional architecture in two categories:
Best new construction for Nearly Zero Energy Buildings "nZeb". |
2. Best project of Integral Energetic Rehabilitation "Retrofit". |
They are open to architecture professionals from all over Spain and will reward the best new construction and renovation proposals that stand out for the high quality of their architectural design combined with a strong environmental and sustainable commitment. In this sense, special value will be given to projects that stand out for their reduction of energy demand, low environmental impact and maximum demand in terms of sustainability in the use of resources and materials, as well as the social benefit of the actions.

To the best new construction for "nZeb" almost zero consumption buildings, open to any type of building.
- Awarded with 3,000 €.
- Diploma, diffusion in the Edifica 2022-2023 Awards Competition and participation in Edifica 2023.
award Edifica Rehabilitation
To the best "retrofit" energy rehabilitation project , open to any type of building.
- Awarded with 3,000 €.
- Diploma, diffusion in the Edifica 2022-2023 Awards Competition and participation in Edifica 2023.
The jury may award as many mentions as it deems appropriate. These will have no economic remuneration but will receive diploma and diffusion in the framework of the Edifica 2022-2023 Awards Competition.
