Donations

The Library of the University of Navarra accepts donations of books and journals that can be added to its collection or sent to other institutions, such as NGOs or other libraries.

Which are of interest to the Library

• Libraries of university professors, bibliophiles and, in general, topic specialised libraries, even if it is not very extensive.
• Journals collections, except for printed issues of journals for which we have a permanent right of access to their electronic version.
• Old books, pre-1835.
• Old archives or archives of important figures in recent history.

Which ones are of no interest to the Library

• Books in the field of experimental sciences prior to 2010, unless they are old (prior to the 20th century) or have a special value due to the dedication, the author or other circumstances.
• Books in poor condition (damaged binding, underlined, with annotations, etc.), unless they are old or of special value.
• Unpublished materials (thesis , notes, etc.)
• Photocopied works
• Reference works(dictionaries, encyclopedias, etc.)
• Multiple copies of a book

Donations are accepted without any condition from the person or institution making the donation subject . Once the material is received, the Library becomes the owner of the donated works, having the power to use the items as it deems appropriate (incorporation, exchange, recycling, expurgation or donation to third parties).

How apply for duplicate books from donations

The books and journals that are not incorporated into the collection of the Library, because there is already a sufficient number of copies, are made available to the institutions that wish them.
