Training sessions
The Library staff provides training sessions on Library services and resources, as well as topics related to researcher support.
Some of the training sessions that are given are:
- Introduction to Library Services.
- Search tools from Library Services: Unika, electronic journals and databases.
- Specific sessions on databases: Scopus, Web of Science, Pubmed, CINAHL, Orbis, etc.
- Ethical use of scientific information.
- Mendeley bibliographic manager.
- Dissemination of the research in open access (DADUN).
- How to publish in scientific journals.
- Processes of assessment of researchers: accreditations and six-year periods, author profiles.
There are three types of training sessions:
- Customized training sessions
- Collaboration in the University's Training Programs
- Training sessions on suscribed products
Customized training sessions
Any member of the University can visit apply for for individual or small group sessions on how Library Services works or on information resources.
Individual sessions for researchers are also offered, covering topics such as publishing, researcher visibility, and evaluation processes, conducted by the Bibliometrics Unit.
Collaboration in the University's Training Programs
University professors and researchers can request a session for their classes on the Library's operations or information resources. Training is also provided to support the completion of Degree and Master's theses, ethical use of information, and poster creation.
In addition, sessions are held at partnership with other services, such as the School of doctorate or the Innovation Quality Service.
Training sessions on suscribed products
Database providers and other products subscribed by the Library offer training sessions for University members.
The blog Noticias de la Biblioteca provides information on the sessions available at any given time and how to subscribe to them.
