Dr. Luis Javier Fortún Pérez de Ciriza

D. in History (1991) from the University of Navarra, with Extraordinary award of licentiate degree and doctorate, as well as National award Fin de degree program. Since 1984 he is Archivist-Librarian of the Parliament of Navarra.

Previously he was Professor (1980-1983) and Full Professor Numerary of high school diploma (1983-1984), as well as teaching assistant (1978-1980) and Adjunct Professor (1980-1993) of Medieval History at the University of Navarra.

Member of the Navarre committee of Culture (1991-2001 and since 2013), Vice-President of the Navarre Athenaeum (1997-2000), member of the Scientific committee of the Medieval programs of study Weeks programs of study Estella (1990-1999) and President of the Society programs of study Historical programs of study of Navarre (1990-1993). He is a Corresponding Academician for Navarra of the Royal Academy of History since 2003.

Disciple of Prof. A. J. Martín Duque, who directed his doctoral thesis , "Leire, un señorío monástico en Navarra (siglos IX-XIX)" (1993), he has focused his research on the medieval history of Navarre, the edition of documentary sources and medieval charters, monasticism in the Spanish average Ages, the life of St. Francis Xavier, etc. His books include guide de la Sección de Tribunales Reales del file General de Navarra (1986, in col. with C.
