Antonio Eslava. The projects of the "Ballet del encierro" and "Monumento a San Fermín".

The speaker began his dissertation by referring to the project of the "Monument to San Fermín", a work subject absent in the city. The monument to San Fermín is conceived from a religious, festive and modern concept. Of proximity to the public. It is a monument that is configured, in turn, as a musical instrument.

The main body of the statue of San Fermín will produce the Saint's own music composed by sound artists. As a campanile, the figure of the Saint is accompanied by a txalaparta that will emit music for the hours and days.

programs of study has been made for its construction and musicalization in the form of organ, flutes, carillon and txalaparta. 

San Fermín solemn and festive sinks in the past, its present has been built by all of us.

With this monument we propose a symbol that brings together spaces in the city, shapes and sounds typical of the feast of the Saint, generating a religious, cultural and aesthetic reference. The proposed materials are steel.

Eslava then explained another of his projects related to the San Fermin festival, the "Ballet del encierro". Octavio Paz says that to live is to live. To think or imagine is also to live.
It was necessary to leave the heroic photography between hooves, cobblestones, fast feet, to distance oneself and think.

To give meaning to our enclosure, because there are within it forces of initiation, field for decisions and being oneself. 

Putting life at risk, a purely human gesture, turning the figure of the runner into art.

It may be that our limits are those of Beauty, and beyond that we sense the sinister. I believe in the artistic feeling that moves to run in front of the bulls, mocking Death with all the courage in the heartbeat, and thus steal, fleeting, from the sinister, a part of the Beauty that resides mysteriously on the other side.
