Romanesque in Valdorba: Other churches. The Hórreo of Iracheta

Dr. Aceldegui's lecture was aimed at addressing and showing the architectural manifestations of Romanesque architecture in Valdorba, so he focused mainly on the council of Leoz, as it has the most varied manifestations of this art. First of all, he analyzed the small churches with a single nave and straight chancel, all of them with a chronology close to 1200 and very simple characteristics. He then studied the parish church and the Shrine of Our Lady of Fair Love in Oloriz, both also with a single nave but with a semicircular chancel and some innovations and influences from the Cistercian style. Finally, he spoke about the hórreo of Iracheta, its function, history and style close to the Asturian style and, according to some authors, dating back to the 9th or X centuries.
