BRINGING HERITAGE CLOSER. EVENINGS IN PAMPLONA CATHEDRAL.
6 September 2011
Duplicate visits to the Pamplona Cathedral complex
issue During the last two days of the course, at the end of the afternoon of Tuesday, September 6, and between the lecture and the closing concert on Wednesday, September 7, given the large number of people enrolled, it was necessary to double and even triple the number of visits to the cathedral, especially as planned with the tour of Professor Martínez de Aguirre.
In order to establish alternative routes for groups, Canon Javier Aizpún and professors Ricardo Fernández and María José Tarifa accompanied and explained other parts of the church, such as the cloister, the staircase leading to the cloister, the roof of the Barbazana and its crypt, the sacristy, chapels and conference room , as well as the cathedral choir stalls. Regarding the Barbazana chapel, Professor Fernández-Ladreda made important clarifications on its chronology, formal aspects of the roof and the use and function of the crypt.
The course participants climbed the Renaissance staircase leading to the upper cloister.

Another of the places that usually cannot be visited and to which the course participants had access was the roof of the Barbazana Chapel.
