Quico Cadaval performed his second theatrical performance in the window of the El Corte Inglés department store.

The first one took place at the cafeteria of the School of Sciences of the University of Navarra. "El Conversatorio" is a theatrical experience in which passers-by can engage in a conversation with the Galician playwright in exchange for €1, which was donated to charitable causes.

The Galician actor, director, theater adapter and storyteller, promoter of the radio theater movement that emerged in Galicia in the nineties, Quico Cadaval (Ribeira, 1960), starred in his first performance at the cafeteria of the School of Sciences of the University of Navarra. The theatrical piece El Conversatorio was repeated that same afternoon in one of the windows of El Corte Inglés, thanks to partnership with Ámbito Cultural El Corte Inglés.

Quico Cadaval made his first performance at the cafeteria of the School of Sciences of the University of Navarra. From 10:45 am to 12:30 pm, the actor shared a conversation with about a dozen people. "The audience that comes across this performance by chance and dares to talk to me is the one I like the most", confesses Cadaval.

Before entering to talk with the Galician playwright, each client had to accept the 5 rules of El Conversatorio: only 9 minutes to talk; the client is the one who decides how to use this time to intervene and listen; you can confess, question, digress, and argue about any subject; even if you do not dominate the subject of the conversation you cannot refuse to talk; and finally, Quico Cadaval agrees not to reveal the content of the performance.

This function evidenced the lack and the irremediably hierarchical character of any conversation, as a micro-drama-producing machine that allows to identify the differences between colloquium, interrogation, confession, sermon, revelation and other forms of speech between two.

"In El Conversatorio two things happen at the same time. The person who comes in to talk to me has a unique experience because the others don't listen to us, that's theater. However, the people who gather outside watching the conversation are watching a performance," explains Cadaval.

"It has been a very rewarding experience because Quico has a lot of cultural richness. The communication is direct and he is very expressive. This subject performance helps people learn to value conversation, but above all to listen," confessed María Marquínez, an employee of the Science Library Service after participating in El Conversatorio.

Quico Cadaval performed again at the window of El Corte Inglés in García Ximénez Street and at the Museum. In addition, the actor gave a masterclass for professionals at the University of Navarra on how to speak in public and shine in conversation.
