A team from Schoolof Economics first and second place in the International Business Ethics Case Competition.

The team of students from School of Economics composed by Paloma Arizón, Alicia Megino, María Bistué, Carmelo Andrés and Borja Silva has obtained the first and second position in the International Business Ethics Case Competition held in Santa Monica, California.

The team was ranked first in the 10-minute oral modality exhibition and second in the full presentation competition. The competition, recognized as the highest ranking at international level in Business Ethics subject , gathered a total of 33 teams from America, Asia, Europe and Oceania .

Ignacio Ferrero, Dean of the School of Economics and professor of Business Ethics, advised as coach to the team that presented a study on the scandal of the ghost accounts of the fourth largest bank in America, Wells Fargo graduate: "Make Money, No Matter How: Wells Fargo Ghost Accounts' Scandal ".

Over the course of three conference the participating teams have addressed the financial, legal and ethical aspects of ethics-related issues such as gun deaths and the emerging "fakenews" in new technologies and media.

Santa Monica College hosted the International Business Ethics Case Competition, which was organized by the Center for Ethics and Business at Loyola Marymounten University California, the Opus College of Business at the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota, and the Hoffman Center for Business Ethics at Bentley University in Massachusetts.
