Twenty-six years ago, in Mesón de los Sauces, a small community in the State of Jalisco (Diocese of Aguascalientes, Mexico), Luis Mario Reyes was born. It was in that rural environment where he learned to recognize God: "I fondly remember those days when my siblings and I were just kids and we would wait for the night to come to see the glow of fireflies. It was our way of having fun and the occasion that our parents used to explain to us that all that beauty was made by God with us in mind". Although they had many economic limitations, she lived a very happy childhood in a Christian family: "Without realizing it, my parents taught us to recognize God's authorship in the beauty of creation and to always be at contact with Him, to thank Him for such great gifts".

The parish where he grew up was the former hacienda of a man with many resources, who had a son who was a priest. Luis Mario explains that "for his son's first mass, this man had a majestic church built, which he would later leave as an inheritance to the community, becoming the parish church a few years later". He assures that the church was a place of meeting, with a very familiar atmosphere, where all the faithful knew each other: "On Sundays, during Mass, there was a very curious scene: my aunts sang in the choir, my friends helped the priest as altar boys, my cousins were in charge of the readings. My grandmothers, my uncles, my cousins, my classmates from class...". Like a big Christian family, relatives, friends and acquaintances supported him in his decision when, at the age of 18, he entered the diocesan seminar of Aguascalientes.

In 2014, he arrived in Pamplona, at the initiative of his Bishop: "Training at the University of Navarra is a great and very enriching experience. I never imagined being able to be in the same classroom with people from so many different countries. I never even thought of leaving my town, and here I am now. Undoubtedly, God's generosity towards me is great. financial aid Luis Mario is convinced that the training he is receiving will be of great help in the performance of his priestly ministry: "I think it is important to be well prepared, because now there are many and strong challenges facing priests. We must always be up to the needs of the People of God, to communicate as best as possible that his Love, manifested in his Son, is still in force". A training taught by professors he admires. "They inspire confidence and holiness. They are a true example to follow", he assures.

In addition to studying the fifth year of high school program in Theology, in his free time he cultivates two of his great hobbies, running "to maintain my health, and thus be a lasting instrument to serve the Lord" and music and singing. "Since I joined seminar, I have been very interested in learning techniques to help me sing better, especially because I believe that this gift is very pleasing to the Lord," he explains. Luis Mario lives in the Bidasoa International Ecclesiastical high school where, he assures, a miracle is lived every day: "We all come from different countries, we speak different languages, we have very different cultures, factors that perhaps in other areas would make living together impossible, but here, however, we are all brothers". A fraternity that will last in the future: "Of all that I have learned in Spain, what is most valuable for me is to know that, despite not living in the same place, my brothers from Bidasoa and the University will remain so forever. Wherever we are, we are united by the same ideal: to become one with the Lord.

For all this, he has only words of gratitude for those who have made his years in Pamplona possible: "I would like to thank them for their docility towards God, for having accepted to be an extension of His generous and provident hands. Every day, I ask Him to reward their detachment, I carry them in my prayers and, at the same time, I entrust myself to theirs".
