Elena Bustos: "What attracted me most about Master's Degree was being able to do the internship at Clínica Universidad de Navarra".

Student of the next edition of Master's Degree of internship Advanced and management in Nursing who has been awarded a scholarship with the Chair María Egea.

Elena Bustos Alfaro comes from Costa Rica and this year she will study the Master's Degree of internship Advanced and management in Nursing at the University of Navarra, thanks to the scholarship Chair Maria Egea. This future Alumni has always been interested in the research:"I know that the Master's Degree gives that great opportunity to investigate and at the same time develop the advanced internship of the discipline to be able in the future to integrate it in the professional internship ". In her years of academic training of Degree and the two years she worked as a general nurse, she could observe that "many colleagues have innate leadership skills, which they could enhance with a proper training in this area of knowledge. I am sure that this Master's Degree will give me those skills for the Personnel Management Service, the management of processes, among others".

The Master's Degree is taught weekly at the School de Enfermería of Campus in Pamplona. It is official and has the partnership professor of the IESE Business School. It consists of 60 European credits distributed in a academic year, and the degree scroll is obtained by passing each of its subjects organized in five modules and the work End of Master's Degree.

"Being able to carry out my hospital internship at the Clínica Universidad de Navarra is what has attracted my attention the most," says Elena, "since, according to what I have read and researched, it is one of the best clinics in Spain. It will allow me to broaden my vision of the world, learn about the role of nurses in Spain, work with interdisciplinary teams, as well as the high technology that the clinic has". At module V, dedicated to internships, students choose between internship Advanced (which includes internships at Clínica Universidad de Navarra) and the pathway theoretical-practical management in Nursing (taught by IESE professors).

Elena Bustos graduated in Costa Rica in 2014 and was clear about the next step she had to take: "I was very interested in apply for the Admissions Office at the University of Navarra, as I had heard about its prestige and training. However, I did not have the financial means to go." She set herself as goal to start her project work and at the beginning of this year she started all the procedures to be admitted, as well as the submission of documents for apply for scholarship : "The scholarship has been what I needed to say yes to this great experience in my life, which implies leaving my home country and going to a new world like Spain. I am extremely grateful to Chair María Egea for having entrusted me with this benefit".

But Master's Degree has not yet started and Elena is already thinking about what she will do after obtaining this postgraduate program: "I hope to study doctorate in nursing and I am excited to be able to work at area of research and teaching without leaving aside the clinical setting, which was the reason that motivated me to become a nurse".
