Two University graduates, among the best architects with the greatest projection in Europe

Miguel Alonso Flarmarique (ARQ' 02) and Guillermo Reynes (ARQ' 02), alumni of the School of Architecture of the University of Navarra have been selected in the call 'Europe 40 under 40' as two of the Spanish professionals with the greatest projection in the European field in 2017.

The distinction, awarded by 'The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies' and 'The Chicago Athenaeum. Museum of Architecture and Design', recognizes the 40 most outstanding architects under 40 years of age in Europe, for their career as well as the quality of their work.

Flamarique presented three projects developed by his studio, MRM architects (Navarra): A new headquarters for business FINSA, an extension of the municipal cemetery of Añorbe and the technological center of Estella. Flamarique, together with fellow graduates Roberto Erviti Machain and Mamen Escorihuela Vitales, founded MRM Arquitectos where they currently develop their degree program .

Reynes, for his part, also presented two projects carried out by his studio, GRAS Reynes Architects (Mallorca): "Stone Clubhose", a building located on a golf course to be a point of social meeting while practicing this sport. He also presented "Where the Eagles Dare", a house on top of a mountain in Mallorca.

Europe 40 under 40 Awards

design A total of 40 architecture professionals have been selected from 14 countries: Austria, France, Germany, Greece, Holland, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom and the Netherlands.

The biannual "Europe 40 under 40" program is an initiative of The European Centre, goal , which aims to identify the next generation of architects and designers who will shape the working environment and staff of the society of the future, as well as make their mark on cities and rural areas.
