Inauguration of classroom Pharmacy internship University of Navarra-Cinfa
The space, which simulates a real pharmacy office, will be destined to the training of students of Degree, postgraduate program and to the professional update
On December 11, the inauguration of the classroom Pharmacy internship University of Navarra-Cinfa, which has been supported and financed by laboratory Navarra, will take place. The space, located in the Sciences Building of the academic center, will be used for the training of students of Degree and postgraduate program and the professional update ; as well as for the organization of thematic weeks in which students can give and receive committee pharmaceutical on different topics with the support of their tutors.
The new rooms simulate the different parts of a pharmacy office - counter, storeroom and exhibition of medicines, office for personalized attention and rebotica - and are equipped with computers for training classes in pharmacotherapy, management, bibliographic searches and preparation of reports. This equipment includes the computer programs used in the daily Pharmaceutical Care and management of the pharmacy.
The opening ceremony will be attended by Iciar Astiasarán, dean of the School of Pharmacy; Enrique Ordieres, president of Laboratorios Cinfa; Mª Pilar García Ruiz, president of the high school of Pharmacists of Navarra; and Joaquín Giráldez, director of the Pharmacy Service of the University of Navarra. A live classroom
According to the director of the classroom Pharmacy internship, Professor Berta Lasheras, "the main goal of this live classroom is to help contextualize the subjects applied in the pharmacy office. It also allows students to develop their own professional skills".
The students will pass through its premises in the first year of degree program - contact - in the fourth year - in "Pharmacology" and "Pharmaceutical Care" - and in the fifth year, at subject "management and planning" and as a support for their internships. "On the other hand, the internship tutors will receive here the necessary courses for their teaching", adds the director.
For Enrique Ordieres, president of Cinfa Laboratories, "with the classroom Pharmacy, students now have a place where they can do practical work and learn in depth about how pharmacies work. As future professionals, the students will value the importance of the proximity and availability of the pharmacist to the patient".
"For Cinfa - continues Ordieres - it is a great satisfaction to have contributed with this learning tool to the training of future pharmacists, one of our most important commitments as laboratory".
Likewise, students and graduates will attend courses at update in Pharmacotherapy and practical courses in Phytotherapy or Dermopharmacy, among other specialties. In addition, as a way of educational activity and assistance, the students, tutored by their teachers, will make open consultations to all the staff of campus, who can go to classroom to resolve doubts about the indications of a particular drug, its side effects, etc.
