"Piccole Utopie. Architettura italiana del terzo millennio tra storia, ricerca e innovazione" exhibited in Bilbao and Donostia-San Sebastián.
The sample, promoted by the high school Italian Cultural Center of Madrid, the MAXXI of Rome, the University and COAVN, gathers a representation of the "new" Italian architecture.
Piccole Utopieexhibition which was exhibited at the School of Architecture last November, will be hosted by the Delegations in Guipúzcoa and Vizcaya of the high school Official Basque Navarrese Architects. The sample will be from May 10 to June 4, 2017 at the headquarters in San Sebastian, and from June 7 to July 31, 2017 at the one in Bilbao.
The exhibition, promoted by the high school Italian Cultural Center in Madrid, on behalf of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the MAXXI National Museum of the Arts of the 21st Century in Rome, the University of Navarra and the Delegations in Guipúzcoa and Vizcaya of the high school Official Basque-Navarrese Architects, includes a sample on the "new" Italian architecture curated and designed by the MAXXI Architettura.
The route of the exhibition searches for the best Italian architectural energies following three parallel paths: the authors, the projects, the themes identifying buildings or projects realized to highlight not only the predisposition to imagine bold and persuasive architectural solutions, but also the ability to turn them into real and inhabited space without allowing in the passage to lose integrity and beauty. The sample is made up of "communities" of new concept (sustainable), individual houses, houses - studio, constituting a brief and significant research of the spaces and lifestyle of the "third millennium" and recalling the Italian attitude towards the "city".
The ten authors selected for this exhibition are samples of a widespread and "optimistic" trend that recalls some characters of the Italian architecture of the past adapted to our time: first of all the natural tendency to keep together report and future, regeneration of the existing and glamour of the new.
