Ediciones Rialp has published "El rostro del amor. Misericordia, perdón y Vida" (The Face of Love. School of TheologyPablo Marti del Moral. On the occasion of the Jubilee of MercyIn an incisive but always diaphanous way, the author reflects on the approach of man to God through compassion. The limitation to face pain and the contradictions of an often cruel reality lead human beings to indignation in the face of the divine. However, the greatness of love for God and neighbor, manifested in deeds, can only be expressed through justice and forgiveness. "Returning to the path of mercy seems to me to be the right way to speak of God to today's world. This was already the case in the beginnings of Christianity. But we have lost it," says Pablo Marti del Moral.

The ancient world received with surprise and enthusiastically welcomed the message of a merciful God. It represented a breath of fresh air as a way out of the spiritual crisis in which it found itself. Today the opposite is true. Precisely the spiritual crisis, suffering and impotence in the face of evil lead us to deny God with greater force.

Where was God during the massacres at Auschwitz? Why did he remain silent? These are questions that reflect man's stupor in the face of suffering and injustice, the horrors of war, persecution and natural calamities. We have lost the essence of Christianity and it is there. In the face of the mystery of evil, the mercy of God the Father, of Jesus Christ, of Mary offers us the face of love that fills human life with meaning.
