840 university students participated in the election of the 5 finalists of the 2nd University of Navarra Pinchos Contest.

The students submitted 24 gastronomic proposals and the five finalists will be tasted by the jury.

A total of 840 university students participated, through the Internet, in the election of the five finalist gastronomic proposals of the 2nd Pinchos Contest of the University of Navarra. The competition, organized by Cultural Activities Officereceived the recipes of 24 participants, five of which will be presented today to the jury at the facilities of the CEICID training center, next to high school mayor Goroabe.

The finalist pinchos are: Lost, by Rebeca Ollé and Amaia Ibáñez (Master's Degree E-menú); Puff pastry duck with mushroom and prawn cream, by Mº Jesús Suárez (5th year of Medicine); La Eco-tortilla, by Fátima Albízuri (5th year of Medicine); Wall-e, by Carlos Pacheco (4th year of Architecture); and Timbal ibérico de habitas baby baby al aroma de menta con crujiente de yuca, by Carolina Donat and Victoria Juliá (4th year of Pharmacy).

The jury will be composed of Juan Ardáiz, from the university cafeteria "Faustino"; Jesús Mari Anza, owner of the cafeteria-restaurant "El Gaucho"; dietetics professors Maria Paz Peña, Marta Cuervo and Alicia Bustos; Marta Revuelta and Beatriz Fernández de Gaceo, from Cultural Activities Office; and Lourdes Illescas, professor at CEICID.

The jury's decision will award the three best pinchos prepared and tasted in the final phase, thanks to sponsorship of "El Gaucho", which will make submission checks worth 150, 100 and 50 euros to taste pinchos, along with the recipe book Pintxos, pequeño bocado, gran placer (Pintxos, small bite, big pleasure).
