The School of Theology launches an Expert Course in Psychology and Moral Life

It consists of 18 credits and will be taught at the Pamplona campus between September 1 and October 14, 2022.

The School of Theology, at partnership with the School of Education and Psychology, has set up the Expert Course in Psychology and Moral Life. This is a degree scroll of the academic centre that aims to goal put the anthropological, psychological, medical and theological instructions for an adequate relationship between the psychological, moral and spiritual dimensions of the person.

The course will be held at the Pamplona campus between 1 September and 14 October 2022, and is aimed at people involved in human and Christian training , in spiritual accompaniment and in the governance of educational or ecclesiastical institutions. It is also of interest to educators, psychologists, health professionals and other humanistic areas who wish to learn more about the interrelationships between the organic, psychological, moral and spiritual dimensions of the person.

Professor José María Pardo, director of the course, points out that the complexity of culture and society in the 21st century is manifested in the personality of young people, as well as in the way they face the vicissitudes of life at all ages, and emphasises "the significant increase in psychic symptomatology in the current era, in particular linked to anxiety, depression and professional stress". "This is a fact that we must take into account in order to offer the most complete response possible," he adds.

"This course will provide participants with the basic knowledge of psychology and related sciences so that they can welcome, understand and accompany people of any age and status, and thus help them in the development and discernment of the various aspects of their lives (staff, marital, family, professional, spiritual)," he says.

The contents of this programme are shared with the first module of the second year of licentiate degree in Moral Theology with a focus on Psychology and Spiritual Life. It consists of a total of 18 credits divided into five subjects.
