More than 40 schoolchildren from high school diploma participate in the conference of training of Literary Excellence, held at the University of Navarra.

The School of Philosophy y Letras has been collaborating with this program since its inception in 2004.

For the twentieth consecutive year, the School of Philosophy and Letters of the University has hosted the conference of training of Literary Excellence, a program promoted and directed by the writer Miguel Aranguren.

From April 11 to 13, a total of 44 students from 8 schools in Spain and Mexico attended several sessions and workshops given by high school diploma from 8 schools in Spain and Mexico attended various sessions and workshops given by University professors and other professionals from the fields of publishing house, language and literature. In addition, they have participated in various activities at the Museum, where they have had to relate art and writing, and have had the opportunity to learn first-hand about the University's academic programs and extracurricular activities.

During the conference also have been delivered the awards of this XX edition. In the short story modality ,Guillermo Alonso del Real, from high school El Vedat (Valencia), won the first prize award . Lourdes Rossy Sesé and Raquel Giménez Fernández, from high school La Vall (Barcelona); Inés García Pescador, from high school Esclavas de Cristo Rey (Madrid); and Diego Fernández Giménez, from Liceo del Valle (Guadalajara, Jalisco), received runner-up prizes.

In the modality of article of opinion, has received the first award Julia Montoro Andrisei, from high school Stella Maris La Gravia (Madrid). The second award went to Marta Carrillo Gavilán, from Centro Zalima (Córdoba). In addition, a runner-up prize was awarded to Javier Barba Luján, from high school El Prado (Madrid); and to María del Carmen García Lea, from high school Altaduna (Almería).

The Literary Excellence Program was launched 20 years ago to promote reading, literature and writing among young people. During this time, more than 8,500 schoolchildren from Spain, Mexico and Peru have participated in the program. For all this, to recognize and thank its work, last February, during the celebration of the Day of the patron saint, the School of Philosophy y Letras awarded its promoter, Miguel Aranguren, the scholarship of Honor.
