The ETSAUN Photography Club of the School of Architecture of the University of Navarra has opened a contest through its new Instagram profile @elclubdefotoetsaun, to vote for the best image of the photographs taken during the 19-20 academic year. The deadline to select the best snapshot is already open and will last until next September.

According to Alicia F. Barranco, doctoral student in the Applied Creativity Program at School of Architecture and design and manager of the Club, "during the last academic year we carried out eight photographic sessions attended by four guests. We worked on topics such as 'color', 'urban photography' or 'nightmares', among others". "During each session," adds the manager, "the guests presented a photographic concept, we talked about the photographic work of a particular author and, finally, we proposed a project that the students had to photograph. After the sessions, there were relaxed evaluations of the students' work".

For the next course they intend to maintain the Club "as a space and a time in which to learn photography, enjoy other creative languages and, of course, make union between all of us". In addition, their goal with the contest through Instagram is "to gather the best works in order to value and reward the best photograph of the course. We also want to raise awareness of the Club's activity, as we would like even more students from different itineraries to participate next year".

Sessions with guests or "on-site" photography classes

The Photography Club of the School of Architecture was born during the 2019/2020 academic year. Alicia F. Barranco is its manager, together with María Fernanda Moreno (1st Architecture) -administrative office- and Hyowon Choi (2nd Architecture) - treasurer-. It is currently formed by fifteen students. Its activities include sessions with guests, on-site photography and visits to exhibitions (planned).

The Club is open to the entire university community: "Students, academic staff, PAS... Anyone interested can join the Club by sending an email with their data to elclubdefotoetsaun@gmail.com- with no need to have previous photographic knowledge, only the desire to photograph is required," adds Alicia. "As for the equipment, we encourage the use of analog or digital cameras, but in the case of not having them, it is enough with a mobile with camera", culminates the doctoral student.
