Stefanos Kales, Full Professor of Harvard University: "To promote the Mediterranean per diem expenses it is necessary to offer good incentives and involve the family and society". 

The University hosted the session "Mediterranean Perspectives: Health, work and Lifestyle" on the per diem expenses Mediterranean as a promoter of health and longevity.

"To promote the consumption of the Mediterranean per diem expenses we must give freedom of choice, but at the same time offer good incentives and involve the family and society". This was stated by Stefanos Kales, Full Professor of Medicine at Harvard University, professor and director of the School of Medicine of work at the Cham School of Public Health and director physician of Health of the Cambridge Health Alliance.

The expert spoke at the session "Mediterranean perspectives: health, work and lifestyles ", held at the University of Navarra and attended by more than 200 people in person and online.

Dr. Stefanos Kales pointed out that there is an increasing issue of "robust and rigorous" scientific research showing the benefits of the Mediterranean per diem expenses : "It shows that following a Mediterranean diet patron saint - high consumption of extra virgin olive oil, plant proteins such as nuts, beans, wholemeal breads or low consumption of red meat - prevents the onset of cardiovascular diseases, chronic diseases or tumors, and is related to a better quality of life".

Following the line of scientific evidence, Stefanos pointed out that "a large group of researchers, doctors related to obesity, diabetes and nutrition, for seven years in a row, have decided that, among all the eating patterns in the world, the Mediterranean per diem expenses is the one that brings the greatest health benefits".

The lecture organized by Dr. Alejandro Fernández Montero included presentations by Dr. Ruiz Canela, who addressed the topic importance of culinary techniques and how they affect health, and Dr. Miguel Ángel Martínez-González, whose presentation focused on the role of alcohol consumption in the Mediterranean per diem expenses and its impact on health.
