The group of research 'Mucosal Drug/Antigen Delivery' of the School of Pharmacy of the University of Navarra, participates in the project European HEPTAG Exchange, belonging to the Marie Curie Actions of exchange of staff of research together with teams from the University of Wolverhampton (UK), Sichuan University (China) and Florida International University (USA).
The goal of project is the development of targeted delivery systems for the treatment of liver cancer using biomarker-functionalized vehicles.
Cancer is one of the leading causes of death worldwide, and in 2008 caused 7.6 million deaths (about 13% of the total). Among these data, hepatocarcinoma is the third most frequent cause (700,000 deaths per year) after lung and stomach cancer (WHO Fact Sheet).
'Mucosal Drug/Antigen Delivery' is one of the lines of research of doctoral program in Medicines and Health.
