This summer, the Museum's urban camps promote for the first time the intergenerational exchange of knowledge and experience. Therefore, one of the six batches of camps scheduled, specifically this week from August 21 to 25, will be dedicated to sharing experiences and promote the rapprochement between our elders and our children, through numerous joint activities.

The aim is to create an atmosphere of play and fun around art that helps to promote learning based on the Museum's collections and exhibitions. In this way, mutual benefits can be achieved for both groups, such as having a more positive view of the elderly, fostering a greater sense of responsibility in children, or promoting self-esteem and motivation for all. The Museum's educational area has designed this program in conjunction with the School of Education and Psychology, with students of the subject "Sociology of the Education" taught by Professor Nuria Garro. In this way, the student body takes an active part in the didactic offer of the Museum.

The different activities programmed during the intergenerational week involve 30 children registered with their grandparents, as well as elderly people from the Amma Mutilva and Amma Oblatas residences and from the Ensanche and Pío XII day centers, through the Solera Club.

The week of the intergenerational experience takes place during the fourth of the six weekly batches that the Museum organizes during the summer period. A total of 186 children between 5 and 10 years of age will participate. It should be noted that in each group two places are reserved for immigrant or refugee children at risk of social exclusion and thus facilitate their integration. This initiative has been promoted thanks to partnership of the Obra Social La Caixa Foundation.

The camps are staffed by a total of 8 monitors, student volunteers from different Schools of the University of Navarra, mainly from the School of Education and Psychology, as well as Economics and Philosophy and Letters. As a novelty, this year we also have Heloïse Bacoux, a student of 3rd year of Communication at ISIT in Paris, who is staying at the Museum for fill in her training thanks to the agreement internship that the University of Navarra has with her center of origin.
