Dr. Fernando Corrales, director of the Proteomics and Bioinformatics Platform of the research center Applied Medical (CIMA) and Full Professor de Biochemistry of the School of Sciences of the University of Navarra, has been appointed coordinator general of the National Proteomics Platform, ProteoRed-ISCIII. With this appointment he assumes the direction of the project Human Proteome in Spain.

ProteoRed-ISCIII is a high-tech platform composed of 19 Spanish Proteomics services. As Dr. Corrales explains. Dr. Corrales explains, the goal of the platform consists of "coordinating, integrating and developing these services, in order to support the development of the research in Proteomics in Spain and to offer this discipline to the research community. As a member of the high school de Salud Carlos III, ProteoRed-ISCIII attaches great importance to applying solutions from the field of proteomics to the needs that arise in the development of biomedical projects".

Dr. Corrales is the chairman of the Spanish Proteomics Societyassociation , which organized the congress World Human Proteome, held from October 5 to 8 in Madrid. "At this event we presented the guide of Proteomics. We hope that the Spanish edition will contribute to consolidate the bridges between the Spanish-speaking proteomics communities on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean and to facilitate the academic training of our students with concerns in Biology."
