"We would not have Christian intellectuals if we did not form them first," said Professor Ramiro Pellitero at the seminar for professors of the department of Systematic Theology of the University of Navarra held in April. The central topic of the same was "The role of Christian intellectuals" and also counted with the interventions of professors Miguel Brugarolas and Lucas Buch.

Ramiro Pellitero focused his message on the Catholic School and the training of Christians. As well as on the challenge of the religion program with the new Educational Law LOMLOE. On what ecclesiology to offer in the class of religion, he recalled that "the Church has in society the mission statement of announcing the love manifested by God in Christ, in dialogue with other religions and also with non-believers". In this sense, he assured that "the Church is not opposed to any value of truth, goodness and beauty with which the different regions, nations and continents are endowed".

For his part, Professor Miguel Brugarolas explained what is the mission statement of a Christian intellectual. To do so, he presented some opinion articles published on the discussion that has been raised since October 2020, about the presence in the public sphere of Christian intellectuals and some ideas that he considered interesting to highlight.

One of them centered on the words published by José María Torralba, director of the high school Core Curriculum of the University, in which he stated that "it is not a matter of adding the Christian response to the cultural battle, but of Christians being present in the field of thought to transform the terms of the public discussion ".

It also collected ideas published by other authors such as Jaime Nubiola, Ricardo Calleja, José María Rodríguez Olaizola, Diego S. Garrocho, Juan Arana and Miguel Ángel Quintana Paz.

Professor Lucas Buch was the third speaker at seminar. In his exhibition he spoke of the role of a Christian-inspired university in the training of Christian intellectuals.

In his exhibition he recalled some articles published by Angel Quintana Paz and Javier Paredes. He also highlighted some of the statements made in Eldebatedehoy.es (online publication of the association Catholic Propagandists), following interviews, on how to make the faith visible in a post-secular world. The interviewees were the president of the San Pablo CEU Foundation, Alfonso Bullón de Mendoza; Daniel Sada, President of the Francisco de Vitoria University; Luis Argüello, secretary of the Episcopal lecture ; and President of the University of Navarra, Alfonso Sánchez Tabernero.

After the interventions of the speakers, the professors of department of Systematic Theology participated in the roundtable, moderated by Professor Juan Luis Lorda, where they exchanged different points of view about what was presented.
