More than 70 architecture students visit landmark buildings in Paris

More than 70 students from the second year of Architecture visited emblematic buildings in Paris. The trip was organized by professors Joaquín Lorda and Javier Martínez, from department Theory and History of Architecture.

Among other buildings, they visited the castles of Blois and Chambord on the Loire, the Gothic cathedrals of Notre Dame and Chartres, the Palace of Versailles, the Invalides Hospital, the Paris Opera House, the Sacré-Coeur Basilica and the Louvre Museum.

They also visited works of 20th century architecture: the Villa Savoye, the Maison La Roche-Jeanneret (headquarters of the Le Corbusier Foundation) and the Swiss Pavilion of the Cité Universitaire, all by Le Corbusier; the Centre George Pompidou, by Richard Rogers and Renzo Piano; the high school of the Arab World, by Jean Nouvel; the Unesco headquarters, by Marcel Breuer, Bernard Zehrfuss and Pier Luigi Nervi; and the Museum of Architecture, located in the Palais Chaillot.
