Beginning of the Course on research Biosanitary organized by the School of Pharmacy of the University of Navarra

Under the degree scroll 'Medicines and Health' it is intended for students from high school diploma interested in the branch of sciences

The Course on Biosanitary research 'Medicines and Health', which will be held over five Saturdays (from February 20 to March 27), includes practical work in laboratories, visits to research centers, pharmaceutical industry, health centers, and discussions with renowned researchers.

On the first day of the course, the students enrolled in the course had research as their central topic , including a visit to department of Biochemistry and a discussion with Dr. Joaquín Giráldez, of the Clínica's Pharmacy Service. The second workshop of the course will take place on Saturday, February 27, focusing the students from high school diploma on topics related to nanotechnology and medicines. The day's program includes a visit to department of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Technology and a talk with Dr. Juan M. Irache, researcher in Nanotechnologies.

On Saturday, March 6, the students will visit in the morning the CIMA and the area of Gene Therapy and Hepatology, to conclude the workshop with a discussion with Dr. Paul Nguewa, researcher of the area of Oncology.

The penultimate workshop of the course (March 13) will be oriented to the analysis of topics related to Neuropharmacology and Pharmacogenomics, with visits to Departments of Genetics and Pharmacology. Norberto Aguirre, researcher in Neuropharmacology and Drugs of design and at the same time Associate Dean of the School of Pharmacy will lead the final discussion with the students.

And finally, on March 27, the central topic of the workshop will be the 'Pharmaceutical Industry', with a visit to CINFA laboratories and a closing of the course with submission of diplomas.
