Since September, nine people with disabilities are doing internships in different services and centers of the University of Navarra thanks to the subsidy that the Caja Navarra Banking Foundation granted in June to the project Tantaka Inclusion.

The aim is to promote the inclusion of people with disabilities in the labor market, thanks to the effort and autonomy that they themselves develop. It also raises awareness in the university community and, by extension, in society.

Some beneficiaries

Miguel Sorroche, Service of Digital Communication

Tutor: Ikerne Arizcuren, COCEMFE

"I would love to work here," Miguel Sorroche says confidently about his experience at Digital Communication. He is just one of them. He greets incoming students with the ease of someone who feels at home. For more than three months he has been reviewing the contents of the different social networks linked to the University of Navarra and has quantified the issue of his followers. But, without a doubt, what he enjoyed most was the transfer of more than 4,000 news items, from 1998 to 2008, which were still on the UNAV.es platform and which he himself has integrated into UNAV.edu.

Ikerne Arizkuren is his tutor at COCEMFE. She has only positive words to say about him: "He is a hard-working boy, manager and eager to learn". He also assures that he has not had to provide on-site support at his work space because "he has managed very well", but has done so by telephone and e-mail. And he concludes: "Miguel has evolved a lot since he started the internship. He has managed to acquire job skills to improve his chances of finding a job".
