A new subject of the School of Pharmacy of the University of Navarra, "Medicines and internship Sanitaria", includes pioneering first aid practices with simulation mannequins, so that students acquire a basic training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

This first-year subject , which was taught during the first semester, is part of the new plan of the licentiate degree adapted to Bologna. It aims to transmit to the student basic concepts on drugs, health products and the role of the pharmacist in health care, so that future pharmacists contemplate the two targets of their profession: the world of drugs and the patient.

"Medicines and internship Health" has a strong practical component, so it has the participation of prestigious pharmaceutical professionals, as well as with the partnership of the Spanish Red Cross-Assembly of Navarra. These sessions complement the theoretical classes on emergencies and first aid.

It is also planned that next year students will develop a case study on pharmaceutical care at the recently opened classroom Pharmacy internship-Cinfa.

The new rooms simulate the different parts of a pharmacy office - counter, storeroom and exhibition of medicines, office for personalized attention and rebotica - and are equipped with computers for training classes in pharmacotherapy, management, bibliographic searches and preparation of reports. This equipment includes the computer programs used in the daily Pharmaceutical Care and management of the pharmacy.
