The Mayor of Pamplona submission the awards of the 1st edition of the painting contest for schoolchildren of the museum

Joseba Asirón, has presided over the submission of the awards of the competition that, graduate "The secret life of a painting", has been organized by the Museum with the partnership of the Morrás Cebrián Foundation.

The Museum has announced the names of the 7 winners of the first edition of the painting contest that, with the degree scroll "The secret life of a painting", the Museum has promoted during this academic year among schoolchildren from 3 to 18 years of age from various schools in Pamplona and Navarra.

The organization of this competition has counted with the economic and organizational partnership of the Morrás Cebrián Foundation, entity that has decided to extend its support to this initiative during the next years. In fact, this intention has been endorsed with the signature of a agreement between both institutions before the ceremony.

The 56 paintings that were presented were exhibited to the public in the Museum's Workshops area (floor 1) throughout the day. The Mayor of Pamplona, Joseba Asirón presided over the submission of the awards, together with the general director of the Museum, Jaime García del Barrio and the president of the Morrás Cebrián Foundation, Juan Zulaika .

"The Secret Life of a Painting" promotes the pictorial creation of contemporary art in any of its forms. The 7 winners were: Silvia Prieto Garde from high school Santa Teresa de Pamplona, award at Education Infant; high school El Molino, high school Isterria and high school Virgen de Orreaga, award at Education Special; Jaime Quintana Irujo from high school Miravallés-El Redín, award in Primary; Teresa de San Miguel from high school Nuestra Señora del Huerto, award in Secondary; Alain Arizala from the Lourdes Mahillo Drawing and Painting Academy in Mendillorri and Barañaín, award Academy. The winners have obtained a monetary award ranging between 100 € and 1,000 €, plus a master painting class position of the painter Juan Carlos Pikabea. The jury of the contest is formed by Javier Basiano, Juan Carlos Pikabea, Eugenia Llull, Juan Zulaica and Teresa Torres.

This year's participants were: Academia de Bellas Artes, high school Santa Teresa de Pamplona, high school Azpilagaña, high school Público José María Huarte, high school Santa Teresa de Pamplona, high school Miravalles-El Redín, high school Irabia-Izaga, high school Nuestra Señora del Huerto, high school Santa Teresa de Pamplona, Centro Asociado Santa Catalina-Santísimo Sacramento, high school Sagrado Corazón, high school Irabia-Izaga, Academia de Bellas Artes, Academia de Pintura Josune Iribarren, Artedeco, Academia de Dibujo y Pintura Louder Mahillo, Mendillori, Academia de Arte Barañáin and special Education centers such as high school de Education Especial Virgen de Orreaga, high school de Edcuación Especial El molino and Isterra.

The Museum's educational area has attended, this school year, more than 50 schools, which means that about 1,500 students have participated in one of the 11 school programs offered, adapted to the exhibitions of the year and with different educational purposes according to the ages of the students. During tomorrow's event, in addition to presenting the second edition of the awards, the Museum will announce to academic staff the new programs prepared for the next school year.

  5. award at the Academy: Alain Arizala of the Lourdes Mahillo drawing and painting academies in Barañain and Mendillori.
