Isabel León, Miguel Brugarolas and Román Sol, professors at the School of Theology at the University of Navarra, have published Theology and University. It is a volume that brings together the conference proceedings of the XXXV International Symposium of Theology held in October 2017 and in which a hundred experts from different countries participated. The Symposium dealt with the reciprocal relationship between the University and Theology and, as contributions to the goal of this discussion, in the publication of these conference proceedings have been added other contributions from several professors of the University, says Professor Miguel Brugarolas.

As Professor Román Sol explains, "the present volume seeks to offer an intellectual contribution to development of a University open to Theology, in accordance with its original identity, and of a Theology that is enriched by a living dialogue with the other sciences".

"Perhaps the reader will discover in its pages ways to enter into today's pressing questions: is the spirit that encouraged the birth of the University still alive, what is needed so that the humanizing force of the University continues to arouse the desire for wisdom and knowledge, which accompany the man who questions his destiny, what needs to be transformed so that the University adequately integrates the force of the new and the permanent value of 'the human' that is in its essence?", proposes Professor César Izquierdo in the book's presentation .

Isabel León recalls that Theology and the University have had a long history in common. "Theology, which already existed as a rational speech of faith, found in the University its natural place of dialogue and development. In turn, the University, from its birth, relied on Theology as one of its fundamental pillars. In fact, as a harmonious ensemble of sciences and knowledge, the University found in Theology an unavoidable principle of unity and, simultaneously, Theology discovered itself enlightened from the four cardinal points of human reason".
