Eduardo Bayo Pérez, new director of the department of Construction, Facilities and Structures of the School of Architecture

Bayo replaces Juan Echeverría Trueba who had been at position since 2015.

The President of the University of Navarra, Alfonso Sánchez-Tabernero, has appointed Eduardo Bayo Pérez director of the department of Construction, Facilities and Structures of the University of Navarra. School of Architecture. He replaces Juan Echeverría Trueba at position , who since 2015, had been performing this task.

Eduardo Bayo Pérez is Full Professor of University in the area of Mechanics of Continuous Media and Theory of Structures, and Full Professor in the department of Construction, Installations and Structures since 1996. He holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the Escuela de I.C.C.P. de Madrid (1976) with the grade of enrollment de Honor. Master's Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley in 1980, and a Ph.D. from the same University in 1982.

He worked as an engineer consultant of Structures at Gibbs & Hill Española from 1976 to 1978, and at INITEC from 1983 to 1985. He collaborated with Prof. Edward Wilson at the University of California Berkeley, in the development of the Structures SAP program from 1983 to 1986. He started his academic degree program as a professor of Structures at the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1986, reaching the Degree of Full Professor in 1994. He obtained his Chair from Structures at the Polytechnic School of the University of La Coruña in 1995. He has been visiting professor at the University of California, Berkeley, during academic year 2008-2009, and at Harvard University in the summer of 2012.

He has been Director of the Chair Arcelor de Structures de Acero granted to the University of Navarra from 2003 to 2008. He is the Spanish representative in committee TC-10 Steel Connections of the ECCS (European Convention for Constructional Steelwork) and member of committee AEN/CTN140/SC3 Eurocode 3: project of Structures of Steel. Member of the accreditation Commissions of the National Agency for Assessment of Quality and Accreditation.
