9. Santa Maria with Child

In an open niche with little depth, topped by a semicircular arch, unframed, is preserved a small carving of the Virgin with the Child in her arms, and crowned as his Mother, which rests on a bracket of some power. The niche is located on the second floor in axis with the coat of arms of the Basset-Aldaz family located between the balconies of the second floor. The house, and therefore the niche, dates from 1774, so the image, due to its baroque characteristics, would predate the construction of the house. However, it is possible that the idea of introducing this image on the façade has its origin in the image of the Inmaculada, which as patron saint of the neighborhood of Las Tiendas, was located, at least in 1779, on the same street.
