The School of Economics reinforces its international outreach in congress NAFSA

More than 15 universities-partner strengthen their relationship with the School

The annualcongress of the North American international Education association , NAFSA, gathered around 10,000 participants from 100 different countries. Among them, the international team of the School of Economics attended the 69th edition of this meeting held in Los Angeles, California.

The congress NAFSA, considered the largest in the world of international Education and exchanges between universities, has allowed School to expand its network of partners and strengthen existing relationships with other universities around the world. " In this subject of congresses the new trends of the international Education are exposed, you see where the world is going, what students, employers and institutions of Education higher education demand globally", highlights the director of International Office of the School of Economics, María del Carmen Bielza.

The International Office of the School has been able to hold meetings with more than 15 universities-partner, as well as to advance in future collaboration agreements with other universities, such as the French BSB Burgundy in Dijon, new partner of the School, and which would form the 118th university-partner of the School.

In addition to strengthening existing relationships and opening new ones, during the conference the International team was able to participate in the training offered for update and learn about new trends in the world of International Office in the field of Education, with sessions such as 'Best practices for managing the portfolio of international partners' or a session on new trends to achieve a balance of exchange students between European and North American universities. " It is fascinating to see that, despite the turbulent times we live in internationally, there are still so many people who are committed to a global world where there is no room for borders or walls. You feel at home even though thousands of kilometers separate you, you share so much with such diverse people..... It's incredible," said Bielza.

In addition to the School of Economics, the University of Navarra was represented through the coordinators of four Schools and the Central Service of International Office with a stand in the Spanish pavilion.

On the occasion of the visit to the United States, the director of International Office was also able to attend to an event organized by the University of Berkeley for its current and potential partners where she was able to visit its campus and learn more about the international programs of this renowned institution.
