"We have to put Humanities back in the heart of the Education, it is a task on which we must insist a lot". This is what the writer Juan Manuel de PradaJuan Manuel de Prada in a colloquium that he held at the University of Navarra with students of the Degrees in Literature and Creative Writing (LEC) and Philology Hispanic Studies of the School of Philosophy and Letters of the academic center. During his meeting, the writer and literary critic responded to various questions posed by students and professors, such as the role of the Humanities in today's society, the training in humanistic disciplines, the importance of reading the classics, or the keys to devote oneself to the literary world.

In his speech, and in response to the question of a student about the inferiority complex of the Schools of Humanities, de Prada encouraged "to recover prestige with exigency, because I believe that humanistic knowledge is the cornerstone". In this sense, he assured that "if the Humanities are weak, the Structures of thought collapses and a decomposition is generated that gives rise to irrationalism". Likewise, he pointed out that "in such a materialistic era, where knowledge is being replaced by utilitarianism, betting on Letters shows that human beings have other aspirations". "I believe that there will be a return and a revaluation of the Humanities, but we must fight for it," he added.

In response to these statements, another attendee asked how to ensure that the humanistic teaching , "which is repeated in the same way year after year" in educational centers, is reformulated from the early Education . The writer agreed with him when he said that "the Humanities have always been taught with a somewhat inert vision, taking many things for granted, as if they were a burden from the past to be carried. We have not been able to make them alive, that is why we have reached the current status of decomposition. It is a drama that we must try to change". For this reason, he advocated "continuing to read the classics, making them captivate the student, so that the teacher can pass on his enthusiasm to the students".

During the session, he was also asked about how to stand out in the literary world without losing quality or one's own essence, in a society where writing seems to be within everyone's reach. The winner of award Planeta in 1997 said that "if you have a vocation as a writer, you have to learn to suffer, because the artist, if he really is one, will always be misunderstood. A literary degree program is made with a lot of suffering, you should not let yourself be fooled by fashions, it is a degree program background".

On the other hand, he encouraged them to look to the classics, "to have them as points of support in our learning and to have them be an active presence in our writing", and shared with them 10 keys that he considers important for anyone who wants to dedicate themselves to the literary world: "training, effort, reading, meditation on official document, the ability to recognize mistakes, the accompaniment of a teacher, knowing where you want to publish your book, having a publisher that is seriously committed to your work, staying loyal to yourself, and God and financial aid".
