Graduate María Apellániz, awarded at the II Scientific meeting of Spanish Biology Olympians
Presented a work graduate "Understanding How Tumor Microenvironment Governs Breast Cancer Stem Cell".
María Apellániz, graduated in Biochemistry by the University of Navarra, has received a award in the II meeting Scientific Spanish Biology Olympics, held from March 23 to 25 -parallel to the Spanish Biology Olympiad- at the University of Murcia.
In this scientific meeting gathered students who have participated in past editions of the National Olympiad, with the goal to present and defend a work of research that they have carried out in their area.
This was the case of María Apellániz, who represented La Rioja in 2006 in the 1st National Biology Olympiad. The Biochemistry presented a work graduate "Understanding How Tumor Microenvironment Governs Breast Cancer Stem Cell", the result of her research stay at Sandra Mc Allister Lab - Brigham & Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School, thanks to a "scholarship Global Internship" from the Foundation business University of Navarra.
