The Chancellor of the University of Navarra, Bishop Fernando Ocáriz, has appointed Gregorio Guitián as the new Dean of the School of Theology. Professor Guitián will succeed Professor Juan Chapa, who has held the position since 2010 and who will continue his teaching and research duties, at position as of September 1.   

Professor Guitián was, since 2016, director of research of the School of Theology. graduate in ADE from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and PhD in Theology from the Pontificia Università della Santa Croce (Rome), he joined the University of Navarra in 2003. He is Deputy Director of the journal Scripta Theologica since 2012 and a member of its committee publishing house since 2005. He is also a member of the group of research of the School of Economics Virtue Ethics in Business.

Professor with a degree in Moral Theology, has specialized in the Social Doctrine of the Church on business and Economics. research He has spent time at the Catholic University of America (Washington D.C.), John A. Ryan Institute for Catholic Social Thought (University of St. Thomas, Minnesota) and Markets, Culture and Ethics Research Centre (Pontificia Università della Santa Croce). He is the author of two monographs and numerous book chapters and articles in international journals such as Journal of Business Ethics, Business Ethics Quarterly, Markets & Morality, Scripta Theologica, Theology and Life, Gregorianum, Angelicum and Worldviews.
