Professor Juan Antonio Gil Tamayo, new director of programs of study of the School of Theology of the University of Navarra
Juan Antonio Gil Tamayo (Badajoz, 1966), Associate Professor of the department of Historical Theology and Deputy Director of the committee of Direction of the journal Scripta Theologica, has been appointed new director of programs of study of the School of Theology of the University of Navarra.
Juan Antonio Gil graduated in Philosophy and Letters (Philosophy) at campus of Pamplona (1989) and in 2002 he received his doctorate in Theology with award extraordinary with the thesis "The Church as mystery of communion in Cyprian of Carthage". That same year he was ordained a priest. Subsequently, he completed a biennium of specialization in Theology and Patristic Sciences at the high school Patristic "Augustinianum" in Rome.
The professor has also published several specialized articles in scientific journals such as Excerpta e dissertationibus in Sacra Theologia, yearbook de Historia de la Iglesia, Scripta Theologica, Revista Agustiniana, Scripta de Maria, Verdad y Vida, and Carthaginensia. He also contributed to The Brill Dictionary of Gregory of Nyssa, edited by Lucas Francisco Mateo-Seco and Giulio Maspero.
